Peachy Keen in Georgia   My husband and I headed to Savannah in late June to celebrate our 1st anniversary.  Keep in mind that it gets sticky-hot in the middle of summer due to the heat waves that seem to be making a regular appearance across the U.S. - but, we still think it's an awfully neat place to hang out for a few days. Similar to DC in the summer it's pretty much flooded with tourists, but despite the heat and the multitude of bodies that crowd you off of the sidewalks, it's full of that Southern charm that you always hear and read about. Georgia Peach Thank You Card As with most places we visit, one of our favorite pastimes is eating - and my goodness, there is no shortage of delicious places to sit and enjoy some air conditioning to beat the heat. We tried a new place on this most recent visit (nothing overly fancy) called The Ordinary Pub - located at 217 1/2 Broughton St.   They have a brunch menu that they serve daily and we partook of some

Magnolias in Bloom Beautiful Magnolia in Gray Lumbar Pillow Last week we were visiting our Nation's Capitol and were blessed with extremely beautiful weather for this time of year in Washington, DC.  We took the metro to the South Capitol station and after walking for about two blocks we met a friend for lunch at a fantastic little restaurant called Le Bon Cafe.  We highly recommend the place but understand that it's almost a communal style seating arrangement for diners unless you're lucky enough to grab the small table sitting at the front window - which happily, we did. What struck us most on this most recent trip to DC were the beautiful magnolias in full bloom.  Everywhere you looked, they were blossoming in their full glory.  It inspired us to begin working again on our Magnolias in Bloom collection on Zazzle.com to try and offer you even more styles and items to choose from for your home or office decor shopping needs. The latest designs feature a bloom w

Sunshine (Sunflower) Bouquets  Summer Decor for You, Your Home or Office Sunflower Lumbar Pillow Here at Artistic_Musings, summertime calls up one of our favorite designs - our Sunshine Bouquet Collection (available on Zazzle.com).  How can anyone not smile when they see a sunflower?   The petals alone scream it's summertime since they resemble rays of sunshine. Did you know that fields of these large flowers may actually help remove toxins from the soil in which they grow?  Wow!  What's not to love? One of our favorite products are these comfortable leggings.  These are fun to wear and offer plenty of compression support due to their high content of spandex. Sunflower Leggings  You'll enjoy working out in these or even running around town to complete errands!  And like most of our products, these were made to pair up with tank tops and t-shirts too! Show Some Auto Love

Show Some Auto Love Fun Personalized Gift Ideas I've never really been all that crazy about automobiles.  I pretty much look for a vehicle that will carry me safely from point A to point B with a little bit of comfort (which translates to having air conditioning in the summer months), and for which I don't have to pay an arm and a leg to own.  Having said that, I do get that some people absolutely enjoy their "rides" - my husband's ultimate dream ride would find us housing a Batmobile in the garage. Still, I'm the type of person who buys a car and pretty much refuses to even think about trading it in or buying another until it's uttered its last gasp and refuses to go any further.  It's not that I don't appreciate luxury - not at all.  Most of my friends know that I have five star, luxury tastes on a fixed income and budget.  I can appreciate the luxury of a fancy auto - I most certainly can.  And no matter how fancy (or not) my set of wh

Let's Get Inspired!

Let's Get Inspired!   Inspirational Gift Ideas Chrysanthemum Portfolio While I may love raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens, inspirational quotes are also one of my favorite things.  I love finding the little pick-me-up messaging on various products that populate my world because they can easily pull me out of a funky or down-in-the-dumps mood swing.  Sometimes funny, sometimes insightful, inspirational quotes can usually provide me with a different perspective on a situation or belief while reminding me that there is much for which to be thankful. Of late, I have found myself creating and offering more and more "inspirational" products within my Zazzle store that I hope others may find motivates them in some form or another. My "Bloom in Adversity" collection features pretty pink dahlias coupled with one of my favorite Chinese Proverbs: "The flower that blooms in adversity is the rarest and most beautiful of all."  From clothin

Celebrating Mom with Unique Gifts!

Best Mom Ever Classic Mug   Best Mom Ever Celebrating Mom with unique gifts! I have an old trinket sitting on my dresser - it's a stained glass piece with the quote "What is home without a mother?"  It probably cost me all of $5 back in the seventies - it was one of the very first purchases I had ever made with my own money in my preteen years and I was extremely proud to gift it to my mom on a Mother's Day so very long ago.  She kept this piece on the dresser in her own bedroom and I only removed it after her passing seven years ago.    Clearly, some purchases made and given with love can hold a special place in the hearts and minds of that special someone. It seems fitting that my very first post on my new blog is all about celebrating Mother's Day.  Rarely a day goes by that I don't stop and think about my mom.  She was my champion.  She told me on a regular basis that there wasn't anything in the world that I couldn't
